ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's basketball team dropped a 74-57 decision to No. 1 Indiana (Pa.) in PSAC action on Wednesday at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The loss snapped the Lakers' five-game winning streak.
Jenna Kunst was the Lakers' leading scorer with 13 points while
Eliza Oswalt chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.
Carolyn Appleby had 17 points and seven assists for the visiting Crimson Hawks (12-0, 7-0) while Brittany Robinson and Lauren Wolosik contributed 13 points apiece. Robinson also had nine rebounds and Wolosik dished eight assists.
IUP opened up the contest with an 11-0 run and led the rest of the way. The Hawks connected on their first seven attempts from three-point land -- the seventh gave IUP a 43-25 lead. The margin held in double-figures the remainder of the game.
Mercyhurst (6-8, 3-4) will return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. PSAC contest at Clarion.
