The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team is back to action as it hosts #9 Colgate at the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Jan. 5-6. Puck drops at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Last Time Out
Mercyhurst traveled to eighth ranked Ohio State on Dec. 15-16 when it fell 2-1 in overtime and 9-2 the next night.
 
Alexa Vasko, Sarah Nelles and Molly Blasen scored goals while Sam Isbell, Morgan Stacey, Michele Robillard, Megan Korzack, Rachel Marmen and Maggie Knott had assists for Mercyhurst.
 
In net, Kennedy Blair made 49 saves, Sarah McDonnell made eight saves and Leah Klassen made eight saves.
 
Previous Matchup
Last season the Lakers and Raiders met for a weekend series in Hamilton, N.Y. Colgate came out on top winning 4-3 in overtime and 4-1 the next night.
 
Vilma Tanskanen, K.K. Thiessen, Molly Blasen, Emma Nuutinen and Alexa Vasko recorded points for Mercyhurst. 
 
Blair made 36 saves during the overtime loss while McDonnell made 22 saves the next day.
 
Coralie Larose, Jessie Eldridge, Malia Schneider, Olivia Zafuto and Bailey Larson recored points for Colgate.
 
Liz Auby save 30 saves during the Raiders overtime win while Julia Vandyk made 25 saves the next day.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 18-7-2. The two teams are even in the last ten contests going 5-5-0.
 
Scouting Colgate
Colgate is coming into the weekend series with a 11-5-2, 5-2-1 ECAC record. Before the Raiders took a month break, they swept Syracuse 5-2 and 4-2. They are unbeaten in the past five games, going 4-0-1.
 
Eldridge is on top of the roster with 13 goals and 23 points. Schneider is close behind with 21 points and Shae Labbe has 18 points.
 
Vandyk has earned a 9-5-2 record with a 2.31 goals against average and .922 save percentage. Auby has put forth a 2-0-0 record, 2.70 GAA and .898 save percentage.
 
The Raiders are ranked 12th in the nation on the power play going 20.5 percent. They are ranked 15th in the nation on the penalty kill with 87.2 percent.
 
Eldridge is tied for eighth in the nation with 0.72 goals per game and tied for 14th with 1.28 points per game while Schneider is 22nd with 1.17 points per game. Schneider is tied for 24th with 0.67 assists per game. Zafuto is ranked 13th with 0.71 points per game as a defenseman.

Nuutinen is leading the Laker roster with seven goals and 13 points. Knott is next with 12 points and Vasko and Summer-Rae Dobson have 10 points.
 
McDonnell has earned an 8-3-1 record with a 2.22 GAA and .909 save percentage. Blair has a 0-5-1 record, 4.22 GAA and .873 save percentage and Klassen has a 0-1-0 record, 5.03 GAA and .875 save percentage.
