Duszak Named AHA Defensive Player of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Mercyhurst men's ice hockey junior Joseph Duszak was named the Atlantic Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this month, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Duszak recorded three goals and one assist during the Lakers split weekend series with American International. On Friday, he started and finished off the scoring for Mercyhurst in its 4-2 win over first placed AIC. During Saturday's game he got the Lakers on the board and tallied an assist in a 8-5 loss.

He is riding an 11-game point streak in which he has recorded 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points.

Duszak is ranked fourth in the nation with 1.37 points per game, second with 1.37 points per game for a defenseman, eighth with 0.85 assists per game and 22nd with 0.52 goals per game.

He is currently leading the Laker roster with 14 goals, 23 assists and 37 points. He has two power play goals, one short-handed goal and four game-winning goals.
