Joseph Duszak,
Joshua Lammon and
Tommaso Bucci recorded one goal and one assist each while
Jonny Lazarus and
Dalton Hunter scored the other Laker goals.
Jonathan O'Hara,
Steven Ipri and
Devon Daniels tallied one assist each for Mercyhurst (12-14-2, 10-9-1).

Blake Christensen scored two goals while Martin Mellberg, Kyle Stephan, Justin Cole, Joel Kocur, Luka Maver and Shawn McBride scored one goal each for AIC (13-12-1, 13-8-1).

AIC got on the board first at 6:50 of the first period when Christensen scored his first goal of the game.

During the second period, Mellberg gave AIC a 2-0 lead, but 1:51 later Duszak brought the Lakers back within one.

Less than a minute later, Stephan put the Yellow Jackets back up 3-1. With 30 seconds left in the second period Cole scored to make it 4-1 AIC.

Twenty-six seconds later, Lammon picked up a short-handed goal to bring the Lakers within two. Bucci had the lone assist.

In the first two minutes of the third period, Christensen and Maver scored to put the Yellow Jackets up 6-2.

McBride was awarded a penalty shot and scored.

Mercyhurst then scored two goals in 32 seconds to make it 7-4. Bucci and Lazarus scored while Lammon, Duszak and O'Hara had assists.

AIC scored an empty net goal at 12:04 of the third period, before Hunter scored with helpers from Ipri and Daniels to end the game 8-5.

Stefano Cantali made 16 saves in net while
Colin DeAugustine stopped six shots on net in a relief effort for the Lakers. Zackarias Skog made 24 saves in net for the Yellow Jackets.

The Lakers went 0-for-3 on the power play while the Yellow Jackets finished 1-for-7.

Mercyhurst is back in action on Feb. 1-2 when they play in a home-and-home series with Canisius. The Lakers are set to host the Golden Griffins on Friday at 7:05 p.m. before traveling to Buffalo, N.Y. on Saturday for a 7:35 p.m. puck drop.
