Dobson Records Four Point Game, Women's Ice Hockey Takes Down Lindenwood 4-2

ERIE, Pa. – Summer-Rae Dobson scored two goals and added two assists to lead the Lakers to a 4-2 win over Lindenwood during the Fighting For Folgs game on Saturday in front of 1045 fans at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Alexa Vasko scored a goal and added an assist while Vilma Tanskanen scored the other Laker goal. Sarah Hine had two assists while Molly Blasen tallied one assist for Mercyhurst (11-10-3, 8-3-0).

Sierra Burt and Nikki Friesen scored for Lindenwood (5-17-2, 1-10-1).

After a scoreless first period, Lindenwood scored two goals to take a 2-0 lead. Mercyhurst then scored four unanswered goals to win 4-2.

Dobson then scored two goals in 1:06 to tie the game at 2-2. Vasko picked up the lone assist on the first goal while Blasen and Hine had assists on the power play goal.

During the third period, Vasko gave the Lakers a 3-2 lead on the power play, assisted by Dobson.

Halfway through the third period Tanskanen scored to extend the Lakers lead 4-2.

Winning goaltender Kennedy Blair made 21 saves for Mercyhurst. Sophie Wolf stopped 33 shots on net for Lindenwood.

The Lakers finished 2-for-7 on the power play while the Lions went 0-for-4.

Mercyhurst is back in action on Feb. 8-9 when they host Syracuse. Puck drops at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
