GREENSBURG, Pa.--The Mercyhurst women's basketball team lost 85-77 on the road to Seton Hill despite a big fourth quarter comeback

- Eliza Oswalt led the team with career high 25 points and 14 rebounds giving Oswalt her first double-double as a Laker. Amber Renz was right behind Oswalt with 20 points and 6 rebounds but it wasn't enough to take down the Griffins.

- Seton Hill's Cheyenne Trest led the Griffins to their win with 24 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

- Just under the halfway point of the first quarter both teams were battling back and forth before the Griffins turned it on and went on a 14-4 run to close out the quarter leading 27-14 over the Lakers. The Griffins would then open up the second quarter with a three-pointer from Tiana Stewart to give Seton Hill (11-5, 5-4) a 16 point lead. SHU would then go on a 16-7 run to give them the largest lead of the game (24) off of two-free throws from Hannah Laslo putting them up 47-23 with just under three minutes remaining in the half.  Mercyhurst (7-9, 4-5) would then exchange points with the Griffins until eventually it would cut the lead to 15 off of Amber Renz's three-pointer as time expired in the half making it 52-37 SHU. The Griffins field goal percentage was 55.6 percent while the Lakers shot 41.9 percent from the field. Amber Renz led MU going into half with 13 points.

- In the third, the Lakers would go on a 7-2 run to start the quarter cutting the deficit to only nine but wouldn't be able to cut it any lower going into the fourth. Eliza Oswalt would end the quarter with a made jumper giving her 11 points just in the third quarter alone giving her 16 heading to the fourth. Just over the midway point of the fourth, Renz and Oswalt would take the Lakers on a 5-0 run to cut the Griffins lead to four, 73-69. Seton Hill would then buckle down and get the lead back up to as many as ten points before closing out the game 85-77 despite the great comeback from MU. Oswalt would score nine in the quarter giving her the game and career high 25 points.Â

- Mercyhurst would out rebound Seton Hill 38-35. SHU would end the contest with 12 three-pointers shooting 40 percent from behind the arc. The Griffins shot .450 percent from the field while the Lakers shot .438
Next Up: The Lakers will host Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday, Jan. 19th in another conference battle.
