- Jason Massey led Mercyhurst with 20 points and eight rebounds in the Laker men's basketball team's 77-66 loss to third-ranked Indiana (Pa.) during Wednesday's PSAC contest at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center. The Lakers built a 37-30 lead through halftime before IUP chipped away. The Crimson Hawks (14-0, 7-0) took their first second-half lead on a Miller 3-pointer to put the visitors ahead, 50-49. IUP went up, 62-57, before the Lakers came back with a 5-0 run as MiyKah McIntosh hit a 3 and Massey made a layup to tie the contest at 62-all. However, the Hawks went on an 11-0 run to break the knot and pull away.
- Mercyhurst is number five in the country on defense and number one in the PSAC only giving up 62.6 points per game.
- In the PSAC, MU is first in the PSAC in scoring margin (16.5), three-point field goal percentage (.432), field goals made per game (9.8) and ranked fourth in field-goal percentage (.487)
- The Lakers are nationally ranked fifth in the country in defense and eighth in scoring margin.
- Mercyhurst has three players in double-digits with leading scorer of the Lakers Massey(16.8) followed by McIntosh (10.9) and Trystan Pratapas (10).
- In the conference, Massey is second in field goal percentage (.592) with Edvaldo Ferreira ranked sixth in blocks per game (1.3)
- Pratapas is number one in the nation with a three-point field goal percent of 58 percent.
- Clarion leads the all-time series against Mercyhurst 29-27 and has a home record of 21-10 against the Lakers.
