ERIE, Pa. -- Connor Wilkinson and Hady Sarr scored second-half goals to lift the Mercyhurst men's soccer team past Golden-Beacom, 2-1, in a non-conference contest on Thursday at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field.

The Laker goals occurred two minutes and 42 seconds apart; Sarr's tally was the game-winner.

Wilkinson scored in the 57th minute. He retrieved a loose ball along the right edge of the 18-yard box and dribbled back toward goal before tying the contest at 1-all.

In the 59th minute, a cross was knocked down by G-B's defenders in the danger zone. Sarr pounced on a loose ball and buried it into the net, giving MU the lead for good.

Martin Jarc was the winning goalie, stopping five shots for Mercyhurst (2-1).

Nicolas Jaramillo had the lone Goldey-Beacom goal in the 49th minute. Suhail Bismilla had five shots in net.

Mercyhurst will return to action on Wednesday when they host PSAC opponent Seton Hill for a 3:30 p.m. start.
