ERIE, Pa. – Henri Tophoven scored as the Mercyhurst men's soccer team defeated Davis and Elkins 1-0 on Sunday at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field.
 
Winning goaltender Martin Jarc was perfect in net with three saves, earning his third shutout of the season.
 
Tophoven scored the game winning goal during the 29th minute with an assist from Mario Castel.
 
Everton Carvalho made seven saves in net for D&E.
 
The Lakers outshot the Senators 17-14. The Senators held a 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
 
Mercyhurst is back in action on Oct. 3 when it travels to California (Pa.) for a 5 p.m. game.
