Hayley Skidmore scored the lone Mercyhurst goal as the Laker field hockey team dropped a 5-1 non-conference decision to Kutztown on Saturday at Tullio Field.
Skidmore's tally came off corner in the 54th minute. She deflected a shot off the stick of
Leah Rogers, who was credited with an assist.
Katie Lechner, who took the corner, also had an assist.
Rachel Dusman had three goals and Kyra Wozniak put in two goals for the Bears (7-1).
KU outshot Mercyhurst, 16-2, and held an 11-2 edge in corners.

Gabriella Amico (2) combined for five saves. Katie Dotterweich had one save in goal for Kutztown.
Mercyhurst (1-6) will return to competition on Wednesday when it plays its first official PSAC game of 2018 at Mansfield.
