ERIE, Pa. -- The 20th-ranked Mercyhurst women's lacrosse team will visit cross-town rival Gannon for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest on Tuesday.
Mercyhurst (5-3, 3-1) is coming off an 11-10 PSAC loss to 13th-ranked West Chester.
Angelina Simon and
Kristin Anderson fueled the Laker offense, combining for nine of MU's 10 goals. Simon finished with five goals and one assist while Anderson totaled four goals, one assist and six draw controls. Goalkeeper
Raelyn Tiberio was solid at the other end for Mercyhurst (5-3, 3-1), accumulating 18 saves.
Diana Schmitt had five groundballs and three caused turnovers.
Taylor Izzo is Mercyhurst's leading point-getter with nine goals and 25 assists for a total of 34 points. Anderson and Simon have 24 goals each. Anderson is the draw-control leader with 43 while top defender
Kira Kolb has 22 groundballs and 20 caused turnovers. Schmitt totals 18 GBs and 11 CTs. In goal, Tiberio is 3-1 with a 9.21 goals-against average and .551 save percentage.
The Golden Knights (3-3, 2-2) are coming off a 14-8 loss to PSAC opponent Kutztown.
Gannon leads the all-time series, 15-9, although the Lakers have been victorious in the last four meetings.
