SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The 11
th ranked Mercyhurst baseball team completed its regular-season Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) series against Slippery Rock with a 2-2 record after splitting Saturday's doubleheader at Jack Critchfield Park.
The Lakers (22-7, 12-4 PSAC) had an offensive outburst to win game one 11-2 coming up short in game two's 5-3 loss.

Mercyhurst 11, Slippery Rock 2
Mercyhurst's bats erupted with eleven runs in game one, led by a big game from
Drew Delsignore and a complete game from pitcher
Tyler Garbee.
Delsignore had four RBI on two hits, including a three-run home run in the fifth inning. The home run was his second of the season.
With Mercyhurst trailing 1-0 in the top of the third inning, Delsignore RBI-groundout started the scoring in a six-run inning for the Lakers.
With two outs,
Daniel Elliott drove in Delsignore on a double the next at-bat, promptly followed by
Matthew Schneider base hit to drive in Elliott.
Mercyhurst wasn't done there as
Jack Elliott scored Schneider on a single.
Kenneth Robinson scored the fifth and sixth runs of the inning on his RBI-double to left center.
Slippery Rock managed to get one run back in the bottom of the third but that's all they would score against Garbee. He allowed just five hits and one earned run while fanning nine batters. His record improved to 4-0.
The Lakers continued to pile on with two runs in the fourth and Delsignore's three-run homer in the fifth.
Schneider finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI. Mercyhurst's two-through-five hitters combined to go 8-for-16 with nine RBI and six runs scored.
SRU starter Chris Anastas was tagged with his first loss (4-1) after Mercyhurst scored eight runs (six earned) in his 3.1 frames.

The Lakers had chances to cut into what was a four-run deficit in the top of the sixth inning but only managed two runs and eventually fell by two.
The long ball did its damage against the Lakers, as Slippery Rock's Christain Porterfield started the scoring in the second inning with a solo shot off Mercyhurst starter
Matthew Minnick.
Joe Campagna also had a solo home run in the fourth against reliever
Vincenzo Lucente, but Tyler Walters delivered the biggest shot of them all with his two-out, three-run jack in the fifth inning to put the Rock up 5-1.
The Lakers rallied in the top of the sixth inning as they loaded the bases with a walk and two-straight singles. With one out,
Collin Fantaskey made it three-straight singles and drove in Mercyhurst's second run.
Jimmy Standohar brought home another run on a ground out next at bat, but that was all the Lakers got as they stranded runners on second and third.
Minnick completed 2.2 innings with just one run and four strikeouts before giving way to Lucente in the third, who managed to strand two SRU baserunners on a fielder's choice.
Lucente was tagged with his first loss of the season (1-1) after allowing four earned runs over 2.1 innings. He allowed three hits and struck out two without issuing a walk.
SRU starter Ryan Tapp earned his second win (2-1) after an efficient four innings where he allowed only one run and two hits. Tanner Stanz completed a three-out save, his second of the season.
Mercyhurst's next scheduled game comes this Tuesday, April 17, when the Lakers travel to South Euclid, Ohio to face Notre Dame College in a 1 p.m. start.
