WASHINGTON, Pa. – The 15
th-ranked Mercyhurst baseball team completed its series sweep and extended its current win streak to six games with a pair of victories over Pennslyvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent California (Pa.) Saturday at Wild Things Park.

Tyler Garbee's complete game led the Lakers to a 12-3 win in game one, followed by a close 6-5 win in the second game.

Mercyhurst lineup scored four runs in the fifth and seventh innings to pull away from the Vulcans in what was a one-run game through four complete innings.
Despite outhitting Cal 17-3 for the game, Mercyhurst led 4-3 before they tacked on eight extra runs in the final three innings.
Garbee went the distance for Mercyhurst, the first time he accomplished that feat this season, striking out six. He walked just two and allowed two earned runs against 28 Cal hitters.
Eight of nine starters for the Lakers had at least one hit in the game, led by
Collin Fantaskey who went 4-for-4 including a triple.
Matthew Schneider showed off his power with a two-run home run in the first inning, his third of the season, and finished with a team-leading four runs batted in.

Jack Elliott) combined for 11 hits, nine RBI, and eight runs scored.
After collecting just two extra-base hits in yesterday's doubleheader, Mercyhurst's hitters combined for seven in this game alone, including three doubles, three triples, and Schneiders' homer.

Two insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings proved to be vital for the Lakers as they held on to beat the Vulcans 6-5 in game two.
With the Lakers in front 6-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, Cal scored three runs and had runners on second and third with one out. Freshman pitcher
Nicholas McRandal entered and proceeded to strike out the first hitter he faced and forced a groundout by the next batter to seal with win for Mercyhurst. The save was McRandal's first of his career.
After both squads notched a run in the first inning,
Jack Elliott launched his first career home run in the top of the second to put the Lakers up 3-1 before
Jimmy Standohar's RBI single added a fourth run later in the frame.
Zach Mitchell's RBI single in the seventh brought in the game-winning run for the Lakers in seventh. He finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, RBI, and run scored.

Daniel Elliott who matched Mitchell with two hits, both doubles. Standohar also had two base knocks.
Starting pitcher
Connor Ryan struck out a pair over 2.1 innings. Five more relievers were used before McRandal closed out the game.
Mercyhurst hosts Malone on Tuesday, March 27, in a nine-inning non-conference game starting at 2 p.m. The Lakers get back to conference action next weekend with a pair of doubleheaders versus Indiana (Pa.) Friday and Saturday.
