#12 Men's Lacrosse Gets Past Saint Rose

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Oran Horn led the Mercyhurst offense with five goals and one assist while Greg Weyl led the defense with six groundballs and five caused turnovers as the 11th-ranked Laker men's lacrosse team claimed an 11-6 win over non-conference Saint Rose on Saturday. The game was played at neutral-site Nazareth.

Sam Crusha added three goals while Colin Greenway, Devin Pipher and Dom Perna tacked on one goal apiece for Mercyhurst (2-1).

Greenway and Dan Kritkausky made two assists each while Piper, Perna, Weyl, Nathan Grenon and Caleb Kueber tacked on one apiece. Perna also had three groundballs.

Alec Starr was the winning goalie, totaling nine saves.

For Saint Rose (0-1), Jordan Machiano led the way with two goals and two assists. Liam Guiton stopped seven shots in the cage.

The Lakers broke open a 4-4 tie in the second half with four consecutive goals, including two by Horn. They finished with a 34-23 shot advantage.

Mercyhurst will return to action on Sunday, Mar. 4, when it plays its home opener against non-conference Limestone.
