Women's Ice Hockey Falls 3-1 to Bemidji State

Box Score ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's ice hockey team suffered a 3-1 loss to Bemidji State during non-conference action on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.
 
Emma Nuutinen scored the lone Laker goal while Sam Isbell and Molly Blasen had assists.
 
With 1:16 left in the first period, Bemidji got on the board first with a goal from Lindsey Featherstone. Tine Kampa and Jacqueline Kaasa tallied assists.
 
During the second period, Nuutinen tied the game at 1-1 with assists from Isbell and Blasen.
 
Bemidji came back with two goals in two minutes and nine seconds to end the game with a 3-1 win.
 
Emily Bergland and Paige Beebe recorded goals while Featherstone, Kaasa, Bergland and Abby Halluska picked up assists.
 
The Lakers were 0-for-3 on the power play while the Beavers finished 0-for-5.
 
Sarah McDonnell made 17 saves in net for Mercyhurst (8-7-2) while Kerigan Bowhy made 25 saves for Bemidji (5-13-1).
 
The Lakers are back in action on Dec. 15-16 when they travel to seventh ranked Ohio State. Puck drops at 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
