Trailing 60-48 with 4:09 left, Mercyhurst ended the game with a 12-2 run. McIntosh and Maxwell buried 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions before a layup by Maxwell closed the deficit to 60-57. After that, Manny Span made a tip-in for the Raiders, but was answered by a McIntosh layup.
The Lakers were behind, 62-59, with four seconds left when Ellis was fouled. He made one free throw before missing the second. A tip by Smith missed its mark before an offensive rebound by Maxwell. Maxwell missed a 3-point attempt after the buzzer, although it was deemed the shot would not have counted.
