COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team dropped a 3-1 contest to seventh-ranked Ohio State during non-conference action on Friday.
Steven Ipri scored the lone goal for the Lakers, receiving an assist from
Joseph Duszak.
MU goaltender
Garrett Metcalf finished with 40 saves.
Austin Miller and Matt Miller had OSU goals in the second and third periods, respectively, to give the Buckeyes a 2-0 lead.
Ipri answered with 58 seconds left in the game before Ohio State's Mason Jobst scored a power-play goal with two seconds remaining.
Sean Romeo was the winning goalie, totaling 20 saves.
Mercyhurst was 0-for-6 on the power play while OSU finished 2-for-5.
The two teams will meet again on Saturday at 8 p.m.
