The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team heads to Atlantic Hockey opponent Sacred Heart on Nov. 16-17 for a two-game weekend series. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
 
Last Time Out
The Lakers traveled to St. Lawrence and brought back a 4-1 win.
 
Wes Baker, Michael Bevilacqua, Derek Barach and Matthew Whittaker scored goals for Mercyhurst while Dalton Hunter and Joseph Duszak recorded two assists each. Barach also tallied an assist.
 
Garrett Metcalf stopped 18 out of 19 shots on net for Mercyhurst, earning his first win as a Laker.
 
Previous Matchup
The Lakers and Pioneers met four times last season, two during the regular season and twice during the post season.
 
During the regular season matchup, both teams came away with a win. Mercyhurst fell 4-2 before winning 3-2 in overtime the next night.
 
The two teams met at the Mercyhurst Ice Center during the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals, as the Lakers won 4-2 and 3-2 in overtime to advance to the Semifinals.
 
During the four games, Joshua Lammon, Tommaso Bucci, James Anderson, Taylor Best, Baker, Barach and Duszak recorded points for Mercyhurst. In a relief effort Colin DeAugustine made one save.
 
Jason Cotton, Stephen Hladin, Matt Tugnutt, Liam Clare, Jordan Kaplan, Vito Bavaro, Zach De Concilys, Marc Johnstone, Marcus Joseph, Ruslan Rakhmatov, Josh Allan, Austin Mcllmurray and Jackson Barliant recorded points for Sacred Heart. Brett Magnus made 122 saves in net.

Mercyhurst leads the all-time series 28-24-5, including a 5-4-1 edge in the last ten contests. Sacred Heart holds an 8-13-3 advantage at home.
 
Scouting Sacred Heart
The Pioneers are coming into the weekend with a 2-4-1, 2-2-0 record. They are coming off of a split weekend series with Army West Point.
 
Tugnutt and Johnstone are on top of the Pioneer roster with five points each. Cotton is next with four points and close behind are Ryan Steele, Austin Magera and Barliant with three points.
 
Magnus has put forth a 2-4-1 record with a 3.08 goals against average and .898 save percentage, in net.
 
Sacred Heart is tied for 55th on the power play and tied for 30th on the penalty kill.
 
A Look at the Lakers
Mercyhurst is coming into the weekend series with a 3-5-2, 1-2-1 record.
 
Duszak is leading the Laker roster with ten assists and 12 points. Hunter and Barach are next with eight points each. Lammon is close behind with seven points.
 
In net, Stefano Cantali has earned a 2-3-1 record, 2.16 GAA and .909 save percentage. Metcalf has put forth a 1-1-0 record, 3.61 GAA and .857 save percentage while DeAugustine has a 0-1-1 record, 5.98 GAA and .860 save percentage.
