ERIE, Pa. – Mats Rohrken and Alex Garcia Piles scored while Martin Jarc was perfect in net as the Mercyhurst men's soccer team took down Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent Shippensburg 2-0 on Sunday at the Mercyhurst Soccer Field.
 
Rohrken got Mercyhurst (7-6-2, 4-4-2 PSAC) on the board in the 41st minute with a header to the back of the net.
 
During the 72nd minute, Henri Tophoven kicked the ball across to Garcia Piles, who found the back of the net to give Mercyhurst a 2-0 win.
 
Jarc made four saves in net as he earned his fourth shutout of the season.
 
Garrett Watson made eight saves in net for Shippensburg (9-3-3, 5-1-3 PSAC).
 
Mercyhurst held a 14-12 shot advantage and a 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Oct. 23 when they travel to Daemen College. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
