ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team fell 3-0 to Miami during the Ice Breaker consolation game, presented by LECOM, at the Erie Insurance Arena on Saturday. Second-ranked Notre Dame defeated No. 4 Providence in the championship game, 3-0.
In his first collegiate start,
Stefano Cantali made 28 saves in net for Mercyhurst (1-2-0).
Twenty-nine seconds into the opening period, Karach Bachman got Miami (3-1) on the board.
The RedHawks then scored two goals during the second period. Ryan Siroky and Phil Knies had the goals while Christian Mohs picked up an assist.
Winning goaltender Ryan Larkin was perfect in net with 21 saves.
Mercyhurst was 0-for-5 on the power play while Miami finished 0-for-4.
The Lakers are back in action on Oct. 19-20 when they travel to Ferris State. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
