Brandon Wildung made 33 saves in his second shutout of the season and
Joseph Duszak scored the lone goal of the game to give the Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team a 1-0 win over the Air Force Academy on Friday in front of 2,148 spectators at the Cadet Ice Arena.
Four minutes and thirty-nine seconds into the first period, Duszak scored his third goal of the season to give Mercyhurst (8-9-2, 5-6-2) an early lead.
Taylor Best picked up an assist and the Lakers held that lead the rest of the way.
Mercyhurst finished the night with 23 blocked shots in the defensive zone while Air Force had seven blocks.
The Lakers went 0-for-2 on the power play while the Falcons finished 0-for-5.
Billy Christopoulos made 18 saves for Air Force (8-10-3, 3-8-3).
Both teams are back in action Saturday at 5:05 p.m. MT (7:05 p.m. EST).
