ERIE, Pa. -- Nicolette Tomani scored both goals in the Mercyhurst field hockey team's 2-0 victory against Mansfield. This win pushes the Lakers to a 4-4 overall record and to a 1-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) record.  

Tomani opened up scoring in the fourth minute of play, she was able to redirect a shot off the pad of the Mansfield goalie to claim a 1-0 lead. Tomani's second goal would come with 47 seconds left in the first half. Tomani evaded two defenders sinking a shot from the left side to extend the Lakers lead to 2-0. Both of her goals were unassisted.

Mercyhurst controlled the offense of the game posting 17 total shots and 10 corners, to the five shots and five corners recorded by Mansfield. 

Victoria Triaga was the winning goalie for Mercyhurst playing all 70 minutes she posted two saves in her shutout for the Lakers. 

The Lakers will return to action on Friday at 3 pm. when they host Millersville in a PSAC match-up.
