The Mercyhurst field hockey team will host Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponent (#6) Bloomsburg on Saturday. The Laker(1-3) are coming off of 3-2 loss to Seton Hill, while the Huskies (3-2) are currently on a two game losing streak dropping games against Shippensburg 1-5 and West Chester 2-3.
Mercyhurst is led by sophomore
Clare Ahern who has two goals, two assists and 12 shots for the season. Followed by freshman
Leah Rogers has one goal, one assist on the season and nine shots. The Lakers have seen goal production from
Nicolette Tomani and
Hayley Skidmore, and
Taylor Balser has notched an assist on the season.
Victoria Triaga has been the Lakers starting goalie she has played 210 minutes in the net she has posted 12 saves and allowed ten goals.
Bloomsburg is led by MacKenna Mahan, she has four goals, three assists and 20 shots on the season. Abby Sauder is the leading goal scorer for the Huskies having five goals, while Ali McKay has the most assists with four. Dana Sheply has been the primary goalie for the Huskies playing 358 minutes and posting 23 saves and allowing 11 shots.
Bloomsburg defeated the Lakers in the 2016 season by a score of 1-0.
