ERIE, Pa. --
Keyan McQueen totaled six goals and two assists to lead the Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team over Walsh, 13-5, in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal on Thursday at Tullio Field. The victory also served as Coach
Chris Ryan's 200th victory as Mercyhurst head coach.
Derek Richards added three goals and two assists for the Lakers (12-2), who charged to a 5-1 lead in the first quarter and led the rest of the way.
Kurtis Woodland chipped in with two goals and one assist while
Oran Horn and
Benjamin Brooks totaled one goal each.
John Plaskey made an assist.
Winning goaltender
Matt Wells finished with three saves while Woodland and
Greg Weyl picked up five groundballs each.
For visiting Walsh, Alex Hudgens had two goals and one assist. Ryan Rafac added five groundballs and Dylan Ciolino stopped 12 shots in the cage.
Mercyhurst outshot Walsh, 48-17, and held a 27-20 advantage in groundballs. The Cavaliers (4-12) won 13 faceoffs while MU had nine faceoff wins.
With the win, the Lakers advanced to the G-MAC Tournament final, which will take place at Tullio Field on Saturday at 1 p.m.
