#8 Men's Lacrosse Finishes Unbeaten In League Play, Will Host GMACs

PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The eighth-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team earned a 7-4 victory over 19th-ranked Lake Erie to clinch first place in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference standings on Saturday. The Lakers also earned the right to host the GMAC Tournament, which will begin Thursday.

Myles Young scored two goals while Keyan McQueen, Derek Richards, Colin Greenway, Greg Weyl and Oran Horn tallied single scores.

Weyl and Benjamin Brooks had four groundballs apiece. Winning goalie Matt Wells totaled three saves.

Tim Bay had a goal and an assist to lead Lake Erie. Dylan Dix had 11 saves in goal.

The Lakers will face Walsh in the GMAC Tournament semifinals. Mercyhurst will also host a semifinal between Lake Erie and Seton Hill. The final will take place on Saturday.
