Softball Drops Two Games At Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Mercyhurst softball team lost a pair of games to Seton Hill, 4-3 and 12-0, on Friday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference play.

Individual game recaps are below.
 
Game One: Seton Hill 4, Mercyhurst 3
Cassandra Egelston and Ellie Dougher led the Lakers offensively, both hitting 2-for-3. Egelston scored two runs while Dougher scored one. Jolene Teller added two RBI and Rachel DiBartolomeo doubled.

With the contest tied 3-3, Seton Hill's Victoria Stock scored on a Mercyhurst error for the game's deciding run.

Mercyhurst took its only lead in the first inning when Egelston and DiBartolomeo ripped back-to-back doubles.

Seton Hill responded with three runs in the third, including two on a double by Abbey Sukowski.

Teller knotted the score at 3-3 in the fifth inning with a two-run single.

Heather Nye was the losing pitcher for the contest. She went the distance, throwing six innings. She had two strikeouts.

Amanda Huff was the winning pitcher for Seton Hill.
 
Game Two: Seton Hill 12, Mercyhurst 0 (5 inn.)

Emily Hair, Arainna Brone, and Ellie Dougher had hits for the Lakers, who fell behind due to Seton Hill's five-run first inning.

Leighann Pettis was the winning pitcher for Seton Hill.


The Lakers will play again on Saturday when they host cross-town rival Gannon for a PSAC doubleheader, at 1 p.m. held at the Mercyhurst Softball Field.
