MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mercyhurst softball team a pair of contests to Mansfield on Tuesday, 7-1 and 6-5.

Game One- Mercyhurst 1, Mansfield 7:
Emily Hair led the Lakers offense going 2-for-3 and driving in the sole run in the sixth inning.
Mansfield opened up scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a three-run inning. Taylor Chidester singled to drive in the first run, while Kayla Hahn singled to drive in the other two. Deshae Jones of Mansfield drove in a run in the fifth inning off of a double.
Hair hit a single with one out in the sixth inning, driving in
Cassandra Egelston, scoring the Lakers their run of the game.
Mansfield had a three run inning in the sixth, Koryn Wickwire doubled to drive in the first run, while Laura Lawson had a two run homer to close out scoring.
The Lakers were unable to make a comeback leaving two runners on base before earning their final out.
Sarah Eschleman was the losing pitcher recording three strike outs, four walks, and scattered nine hits in her six innings of work.
Arianna Young was the winning pitcher for the contest.
Game Two- Mercyhurst 5, Mansfield 6:
Jamie Ward led Mercyhurst going 1-for-2 and recording a RBI.
Rachel DiBartolomeo went 1-for-2 as well while
Julia Lang went 1-for-3 she also had a RBI.
Arainna Brone contributed a RBI as well.
Mercyhurst had productive first inning driving in five runs on three hits. The Lakers scored their first two runs when Mansfield pitcher Brooke Roys hit Ward with a pitch, with the bases loaded, scoring
DiBatolomeo, as well as walking Brone, during the next at bat, driving in Teller. Lang hit a single driving in the Lakers third run, Ward also scored on this play due to an error on the catcher.
Lindsey Parese reached first on an error, allowing Brone to score.
The game would remain scoreless until Melanie Taylor of Mansfield (17-8) hit a two run single in the fourth inning cutting the Lakers lead to 5-2.
Mercyhurst (8-22-1) was unable to hold of Mansfield in the bottom of the seventh as they rallied to score four runs winning the game. Taylor drove in the winning run, when she singled to second base. Lawson drove in a run, while Rachel Sterner drove in pair of runs.
Heather Nye was the losing pitcher for the game she threw for four innings recording a strikeout and was charged with two earned runs, on four hits against her.
Anna Cochis pitched two innings for the Lakers recording two strikeouts, she was charged with four earned runs, and scattered nine hits.
Connor Decker of Mansfield was the winning pitcher for the game.
The Lakers will play next when they travel to Seton Hill to participate in a PSAC doubleheader at 2:30 p.m..
