ERIE, Pa. -- Mercyhurst goaltender
Brandon Wildung had a 24-save shutout as the Laker men's ice hockey team finished its sweep of American International with a 5-0 win on Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center in front of 1,001 spectators.

Derek Barach had a goal and two assists while
Stephen Hrehoriak,
Jonathan Charbonneau,
Jack Riley and
Joseph Duszak scored the other goals for Mercyhurst (14-18-4).
Les Lancaster had two assists while
Tyler Enns,
Patrick Piacentini,
Taylor Best, Josh Lammon,
Matthew Whittaker and
Philippe Drouin had one assist each.

After a scoreless first period, the Lakers unleashed for a four-goal second period.

Hrehoriak got the Lakers on the board first with his sixth goal of the season. Enns and Piacentini had assists. Piacentini passed the puck to Enns who took a shot that AIC goalie Zackarias Skog punched away. Hrehoriak found the rebound and buried it in the net.

Barach scored his ninth goal of the season when he capitalized on a 5-on-3 advantage. Lancaster and Best tallied assists. Best passed the puck up to Lancaster who passed it across to Barach for a one-timer that found the back of the net.

Charbonneau scored his 15th goal of the season to put the Lakers up 3-0. Barach and Lancaster picked up assists. Barach shot the puck wide from the point which got behind Skog and Charbonneau tapped it in.

Riley extended the Laker lead to 4-0 when he scored his fourth power-play goal of the season. Drouin and Barach had assists. Barach took a shot that left a rebound in front of a wide-open net for Riley to ring it home.

Duszak scored his fourth goal of the season early in the third period to make it 5-0. Lammon and Whittaker grabbed assists. Duszak shot the puck got his own rebound and capitalized on it.

Mercyhurst went 2-for-6 on the power play and AIC (8-20-8) went 0-for-4.

Zackarias Skog stopped 29 out of 34 shots on net for the Yellow Jackets.

The Lakers are back in action next weekend to play in the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals.
