WEST POINT, N.Y. –
Matthew Whittaker scored two goals, including the overtime game-winner, to give the Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team a 3-2 win over Army West Point in game two of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday. The series is now tied, 1-1, with the decider happening Sunday.
Whittaker also had an assist while Josh Lammon scored the Lakers' other goal.

Jeremy Wu,
Les Lancaster and
Taylor Best added assists for Mercyhurst (15-19-4).
The Lakers scored their three goals on the power play, going 3-for-3.
Conor Andrle and Brendan Soucie scored goals for Army (18-13-5).
Whittaker started off the scoring at 8:27 in the first period when he scored his fourth power-play goal of the season. Ferriero tallied an assist.
Army came back with a goal from Andrle on the power play. His tying goal was scored at 15:50 of the first.
After a scoreless second period, Lammon scored on the power play to give the Lakers a 2-1 lead at 9:33 in the third period. Lammon received assists from Whittaker and Wu on his fourth goal of the season.
Army tied the game back up at 2-2 with a goal from Soucie at 14:18 in the third period.
The Lakers received a five-minute power play chance at 15:51 in the third period, which rolled over into overtime when Whittaker found the back of the net to knot the series.
Colin DeAugustine made a total of 38 saves in net for Mercyhurst. Parker Gahagen made 33 saves for Army.
The Lakers and Black Knights will be back in action on Sunday at 7:05 p.m.
