Men's Ice Hockey Season Ends With 4-3 Loss To Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team lost 4-3 to Army West Point in game three of the Atlantic Hockey Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday.
 
After overcoming a 1-0 deficit, the Lakers took a 3-1 lead before Army scored three unanswered goals to win.
 
Philippe Drouin, Wes Baker and Josh Lammon scored goals while Joseph Duszak, Les Lancaster, Jeremy Wu and Matthew Whittaker were credited with assists for Mercyhurst.

C.J. Reuschlein, Zach Evancho, Trevor Fidler and Mike Preston scored goals for Army.
 
After a scoreless first period, Army got on the board first at 7:16 in the second period with power play goal from Reuschlein.
 
Drouin tied the game at 1-1 when he scored his second goal of the season at 10:18 in the second period. Duszak tallied an assist.
 
Baker gave the Lakers the lead at 13:03 in the second period, when he scored his fourth goal of the season. Lancaster picked up an assist.
 
Lammon scored 33 seconds later to extend the lead to 3-1. Lammon's fifth goal of the season was assisted by Wu and Whittaker.
 
Army made a comeback with a goal from Evancho late in the second and a goal from Fidler early in the third to tie the game at 3-3. The Black Knights took the lead with a goal from Preston late in the third and held off Mercyhurst the rest of the way.
 
Colin DeAugustine made 30 saves for the Lakers. Winning goalie Parker Gahagen made 40 saves before Cole Bruns made nine saves in relief of Gahagen, who left the game with an injury.
 
Mercyhurst held 52-34 shot advantage and went 0-for-6 on the power play while Army went 1-for-3.
