The Mercyhurst softball team is set to open its 2017 season at the Lenoir-Rhyne Bear Bash with two games on Friday and two on Saturday.
Senior outfielder
Rachel DiBartolomeo is the top returner for the Lakers, coming off a season in which she was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division Player of the Year. DiBartolomeo was also selected to the All-PSAC West First Team, the NFCA All-Atlantic Region First Team, D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team and D2CCA All-America Honorable Mention.

The Lakers, coming off a 13-23 season, will open with games against host Lenoir-Rhyne, Lees-McRae, Concord and Virginia Wise.
