BRIDGEWATER, N.J. – The NEC released their All-NEC teams following the conclusion of the regular season. This past season marked Mercyhurst's second year in the conference and second year with a pair of honorees. Gabriella DeLuca was named to the All-Rookie Team and Braylynn Kelly was named to the All-Second Team.

DeLuca made waves in her rookie season as she climbed the statistical rankings in the NEC across several categories playing shortstop, third base, and pitcher. She finished the year with a batting average of .395, a slugging percentage of .706, and an OPS of 1.131. In 119 at bats, she recorded 84 total bases, 47 hits, 35 RBIs, 20 runs, 13 doubles, and eight home runs. She led the Lakers in every one of these categories. In the NEC, she is second in batting average and doubles, third in OPS and slugging percentage, fifth in home runs, and sixth in RBIs. She leads all rookies in the conference each of those categories.

In the circle, the Erie native held a 5-7 record, an ERA of 5.34, a WHIP of 1.74, an opposing batting average of .314, and struck out 42 batters. She is top 10 in opposing battering average, wins, hits allowed, runs allowed, earned runs allowed, and batters truck out looking.

Notably, DeLuca earned NEC Rookie of the Week in early April. Against SFU, she pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and two earned runs. In the same game, she hit a SAC fly and a three-run home run to secure a 4-2 win. A few days later, she recorded six RBIs in a 16-2 win vs. FDU.

Kelly has been one of the most consistent hitters for the Lakers this season. In 92 at bats, the Whittaker, Michigan native had 40 total bases, 32 hits, 16 runs, 15 RBIs, a batting average of .348, an OPS of .847, and a slugging percentage of .435. She finished second on the team in batting average and 12th in the NEC. Her 11 stolen bases led the team and were sixth in the conference.

The Laker's left fielder also hit a three-run blast in an 8-6 win at CCSU. This was the first home run of her career. She also recorded 14 hits in a span of three series in early April where the team won four games.
