Derek Barach totaled two goals and two assists as the Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team scored five straight goals, including four in the second period, to overcome an early deficit and defeat Robert Morris, 7-4, on Friday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Jonathan Charbonneau and
Jack Riley each scored a goal and tallied an assist for the Lakers.
Stephen Hrehoriak,
Michael Verboom and
James Anderson scored one goal each.
Les Lancaster had two assists while
Kyle Dutra,
Alex Carlson,
Philippe Drouin and
Zach Todd added single assists for Mercyhurst (12-15-4, 11-10-4).

Luke Lynch had two goals while Elias Ghantous and Daniel Leavens scored one goal each for Robert Morris (16-11-4, 12-10-3).
After falling behind 3-1 in the opening period, the Lakers stormed back with their five-goal run.
Robert Morris got on the board early in the first period with goals from Lynch and Ghantous to take an early 2-0 lead.

Mercyhurst goaltender
Brandon Wildung took over in net after the Colonials' two goals.

Anderson got Mercyhurst on the board with his second goal of the season. Drouin had an assist as he passed the puck over to Anderson who, in front of the net, slid the puck past Robert Morris goaltender Francis Marotte.

Fifteen seconds later, Leaven capitalized on the power play to pull Robert Morris' lead to 3-1.

Charbonneau scored late in the first period on the power play for his fourth goal of the season. Barach and Todd recorded assists. Charbonneau took a shot, Barach picked up the rebound and took it around the net to find Charbonneau wide open for the Lakers' second goal of the night.

Barach scored his fifth goal of the season early in the second to tie the game at 3-3. Lancaster and
Jack Riley had assists. Lancaster shot the puck and Barach found the open rebound and put it home.

Verboom scored his third goal of the season to put the Lakers in the lead for the first time during the game. Dutra and Lancaster picked up assists. Dutra carried the puck in the offensive zone and passed it to Verboom who crashed the net and scored.

Riley scored on the power play for his sixth goal of the season. Barach and Charbonneau recorded assists. Charbonneau passed it to Barach, who passed it in front of the net to Riley. Riley had a wide open net on the right side and put the puck in the back of the net.

Barach scored his second goal of the night to put the Lakers up 6-3. Carlson had an assist. Carlson took a shot and Barach buried the rebound for his sixth goal of the season.

During the third period, Lynch scored his second goal of the game to make the score 6-4.

Hrehoriak scored an empty-net goal after blocking an RMU shot to give the Lakers a 7-4 win.

The Lakers were 2-for-3 on the power play while the Colonials went 1-for-8.
Wildung finished with 26 saves to earn the victory.
