BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team fell to Bowling Green State, 3-0, in a non-conference contest on Saturday.
The host Falcons (15-17-2) scored twice in the second period and added an insurance goal in the third.
Colin DeAugustine made 29 saves in net for the Lakers (11-15-4) while BGSU goaltender Chris Nell stopped 22 shots.
Pierre-Luc Mercier put Bowling Green ahead in the second before Mark Friedman followed with a power-play goal later in the period.
Tyler Spezia scored the game's final goal in the third for Bowling Green.
The Falcons outshot the Lakers, 32-22, and went 1-for-8 on the power play. Mercyhurst was 0-for-4 on the power play.
Mercyhurst will return to action on Feb. 17-18 with a home-and-home Atlantic Hockey series against Robert Morris.
