Men's Ice Hockey to Play in Last Non-Conference Game of the Season

Last Non-Conference Matchup
  • The Mercyhurst men's hockey team will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to play in their last non-conference game of the season on Saturday.
  • The Falcons will be hosting the 50th Anniversary of the BGSU Ice Arena.
 
Weekend Recap
  • Last weekend Mercyhurst welcomed Sacred Heart for two games. They tied 2-2 on Friday before falling 4-3 in overtime on Saturday.
 
All Time Series
  • Mercyhurst and Bowling Green have faced off one time in program history back in 2000. The Falcons came to Erie, Pa and defeated the Lakers 3-1.
 
Scouting Bowling Green
  • The Falcons have acquired an overall record of 14-17-2, putting them in fourth place in the Westren Collegiate Hockey Association standings.
  • They are coming off of a weekend series with Northern Michigan where they lost 3-0 and 2-0.
  • They are riding a three-game losing streak; in which they have been shutout all three games.
  • Leading the Falcons roster is Mitch McLain with 29 points. Tyler Spezia is next with 21 and close behind is Kevin Dufour with 19 points.
  • In goal is Chris Nell with a 10-12-2 record. He has earned a 2.45 goals against average and a .899 save percentage.
 
Laker Lineup
  • Mercyhurst has earned an overall record of 11-14-4 and is currently tied for fourth place in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
  • Sophomore Derek Barach is sitting on top of the Lakers roster with 22 assists and 26 points. Jonathan Charbonneau has 13 goals and 21 points to put him in second and Les Lancaster is next with 19 points.
  • Joey Duszak has 3 goals, 12 assists and 15 points to lead the freshmen in all three categories.
  • Splitting time in net is Colin DeAugustine and Brandon Wildung. DeAugustine has earned a 5-5-2 record with a 2.80 GAA and a .918 save percentage. Wildung is acquired a 6-9-2 record with a 3.00 GAA and a .911 save percentage.
 
Point Streaks
  • Taylor Best and Derek Barach are on three-game point streaks.
  • Best has scored three goals and picked up one assist in the past three games.
  • Barach has tallied four assists in his past three games.
 
Next Up
  • Mercyhurst will play in their last home-and-home series of the season against Robert Morris.
  • Robert Morris will come to the Mercyhurst Ice Center on Friday before Mercyhurst will head to Moon Township on Saturday.
  • Puck drops at 7:05 p.m. both nights.
