ERIE, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst men's basketball team will visit non-conference opponent Lake Erie on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
The Lakers have opened their season with three straight wins, defeating non-conference Daemen, 69-65, and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference opponents Cheyney, 77-47, and Millersville, 69-55.
Lorenzo Collier is Mercyhurst's leading scorer, averaging 17.7 points and 1.7 steals per game.
Malcolm Walters has averaged 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds.
The Lakers (3-0) have done well on the glass thus far, averaging 42 rebounds per game to their opponents' average of 28.3.
Patrick Smith has an average of 6.7 rebounds and
Dontae Williams is averaging 6.0 rebounds. Also,
Dajuan Dent averages 5.3 boards and 1.3 blocks.
The Storm (2-2) lost its last NCAA Division II game -- a 73-68 setback to non-conference Central State (Ohio) on Nov. 18. Lake Erie was last in action when it pushed Bowling Green to overtime in an exhibition game for LEC and countable game for BGSU. LEC eventually lost, 109-106.
Ryan Middendorf is Lake Erie's top scorer with 14.3 points per game. Erron James leads the Storm in the rebounding department with 6.3 per contest.
