ERIE, Pa. --
Dajuan Dent finished with a double-double, totaling 13 points and 13 rebounds, as the Mercyhurst men's basketball team claimed a 77-47 victory over Cheyney during Saturday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center.
Malcolm Walters added 13 points and six rebounds while
Lorenzo Collier put in 11 points.
Ryan Roland made four assists.
Mercyhurst (2-0, 1-0) broke a 14-all tie with 10 straight points and led the rest of the way. Roland had six points during that stretch.
The Lakers took a 30-17 lead into halftime and, midway through the second half, went on a 13-0 run, getting six points from
Kordell Holness-Lightbody and four from Dent to push their lead to 66-35. Mercyhurst's largest lead was 34 points.
Zahir Stewart was Cheyney's leading scorer, finishing with nine points and six rebounds.
Mercyhurst was 23 of 57 from the field (40.4 percent), including 8 of 21 form beyond the three-point arc (38.1). The Wolves (0-3, 0-1) were 14 of 46 (30.4) and 1 of 12 (8.3), respectively.
The Lakers held a 45-32 rebounding advantage.
Mercyhurst will return to action on Sunday with another PSAC contest when Millersville visits the MAC for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
