FAIRVIEW, Pa. -- The Mercyhurst women's cross country team defeated cross-town rival Gannon, 18-37, in a dual event on Saturday.

Molly Kennedy claimed her second individual crown of the year, placing first in 20:09. The Lakers placed the top three runners and four of the top five.

Mary Jaskowak was runner-up in 20:15 while Anna Warner took third in 20:20. Chloe Tyillian added a fifth-place finish in 20:39.

Sydney Van Leeuwen rounded out the Lakers' top five with a seventh-place clock-in of 21:05.

Robyn Hoover (22:04) and Kelly Bochnewetch (22:24) placed 11th and 14th, respectively, in a field of 27 runners.

The Mercyhurst women will compete next at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships, which will take place Oct. 21 at California (Pa.).
