ERIE, Pa. – The Mercyhurst women's soccer team outshot California (Pa.) 18-5 but lost 1-0 at Mercyhurst Soccer Field Wednesday afternoon.
Mercyhurst (2-5-3) now sits at 2-5-2 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference games. The Vulcans (3-7-1) improved to 3-6-1 in conference play.
Cal only had one shot on goal for the entire game and it ended up deciding the game. Kiley Austin guided one into the top left corner in the 82
nd minute for match's only score.
Mercyhurst dominated possession throughout the game but could not find the finishing touch to score.

th minute in the first half, while teammate
Anja Korte hit the post with a shot in the 54
th minute in the second half.
Emilie Bock ripped a shot in the 55
th minute that leaked through Cal goalkeeper Michaela Colon's hands, but the ball spun away from the goal line at the last second. Colon finished with nine total saves.
The Lakers look to bounce back when they traveled to Millersville Saturday, Oct. 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
