Wildung, Men's Ice Hockey Blank Bentley

WATERTOWN, Mass. -- Mercyhurst goaltender Brandon Wildung recorded a 24-save shutout while the Lakers scored two power-play goals to take down Bentley, 2-0, and give Mercyhurst its first Atlantic Hockey win on Saturday.

With his first shutout of 2017-18, Wildung now has four clean sheets in his four-year tenure as a Laker.
 
Taylor Best and Jack Riley scored for Mercyhurst (2-2-2, 1-1-2) while Matthew Whittaker, Joshua Lammon and Joseph Duszak had assists.
 
After a scoreless first period, Best scored on the power play with 15 seconds left in the second period to take a 1-0 lead. Whittaker and Lammon tallied assists.
 
With one second remaining in the third period, Jack Riley notched his first power-play goal of the season to end the game in a 2-0 victory for Mercyhurst. Duszak had the lone assist.
 
Mercyhurst went 2-for-5 on the power play while Bentley (1-3-2, 1-3-2) went 0-for-7.
 
In net for Bentley, Jayson Argue saved 28 out of 30 shots on net.
 
The Lakers are back in action on Nov. 3-4 at non-conference, 15th-ranked Penn State. Both games are set to start with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop.
