Lakers Fall 3-1 in Regular Season Finale

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Despite scoring the game's first goal, the Mercyhurst men's soccer team lost its final regular season Pennslyvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup 3-1 at East Stroudsburg Saturday afternoon.
 
The Lakers (12-5) await their final positioning in the PSAC standings at the conclusion of all PSAC games on Saturday. They currently sit in fourth place. See the PSAC Standings for the Lakers official position at the conclusion of Saturday's matches.
 
Mercyhurst's Chris Lund scored his first goal of the season in the 13th minute to give the Lakers the initial lead. He received a cross from Alex Garcia Piles and tucked it into the lower right corner.
 
From there, East Stroudsburg (12-3-1) rattled off three unanswered goals to take the win. Eddy Enwobi scored in the 17th minute, followed by Lata Petros and Christain Bukowski in the 30th and 64th minutes.
 
Shot totals were close to even between both teams with the Lakers holding a slight edge 14-12. Mercyhurst also had six shots on goal to East Stroudsburg's five.
 
The Lakers now advance to the PSAC Tournament quarterfinal round with a matchup yet to be determined. Check the Mercyhurst men's soccer webpage in the near future to see when and where the Lakers will play next.
