WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Mercyhurst men's hockey team fell to Bentley, 4-3, in Atlantic Hockey action on Friday.

Les Lancaster had a goal and an assist while
Jonathan Charbonneau and
Kane Elliot scored Mercyhurst's other goals.
James Anderson had two assists while
Jeremy Wu and
Joseph Duszak had one assist each for the Lakers (1-2-2, 0-1-2).

Charlie Marchand, Kyle Schmidt, Luke Santerno and Connor Brassard scored for Bentley (1-2-2, 1-2-2). Brassard's goal was the game-winner.

During the first period, both teams had chances on the power play, but it was Bentley that capitalized to take an early 1-0 lead in the first period as Marchand scored with assists from Ryner Gorowsky and Tanner Jago.

In the second, Lancaster evened the score at 1-1 with his first goal of the season. Anderson and Wu had assists.

A five-minute major late in the third period sent the Lakers to a long penalty kill early in the third. On that kill, the host Falcons converted twice to take a 3-1 lead. Schmidt scored halfway through the kill and then Santerno tallied with four seconds left in the penalty.

Later in the period, Mercyhurst answered with two goals in a 20-second span to tie the game at 3-3. Charbonneau scored on the power play with 8:10 remaining in the contest -- with assists from Lancaster and Duszak -- before Elliot tied the game with 7:50 to go. For Elliot, it was his first goal of the season; he was assisted by Anderson.

Brassard's go-ahead goal occurred with 6:19 left in regulation, forging a 4-3 Bentley lead. The Falcons held on from there.

The Lakers went 1-for-7 on the power play while the Falcons went 3-for-5.

Mercyhurst goaltender
Brandon Wildung saved 39 out of 43 shots on net while Jayson Argue stopped 34 out of 37 shots for Bentley.
