THE GAME
The Mercyhurst football team will visit California (Pa.) for a 1 p.m. Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division matchup.

Both teams are coming off wins. The Lakers won a 35-16 home decision over Seton Hill last week while Cal won across town at Gannon, 38-35.

THE COACHES
Marty Schaetzle (Bucknell '83) is in his 16th season as head coach for Mercyhurst. He owns a 81-92 record. He is a three-time PSAC West Coach of the Year (2008, 2010, 2014) and has coached the Lakers to two PSAC West regular-season championships (2010, 2012) and one PSAC overall title (2010). Prior to coaching at Mercyhurst, Schaetzle has held assistant coach positions at Bucknell, Shippensburg, Northern Arizona, Sonoma State, Arizona and Albany.

Gary Dunn (California, Pa. '95) is in his second year as head coach for California (Pa.). He has a 17-3 record as a collegiate head coach. Dunn was previously an assistant coach for alma mater California (Pa.), Duquesne and Morehead State.

NEXT UP
The Lakers will play their final home game of 2017 season when nationally-ranked Indiana (Pa.) visits Tullio Field for a 12 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Nov. 4.

IUP is currently 8-0 overall and 5-0 in the PSAC West. The Crimson Hawks will host Gannon this week.
