The Mercyhurst volleyball team will host East Stroudsburg and Kutztown in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Friday and Saturday. The Lakers are coming into this competition after splitting last week's games picking up a 3-0 win over Slippery Rock but falling 0-3 to Edinboro. Mercyhurst 7-15 (2-9 PSAC) are third in the PSAC Northwest division moving in front of fourth place Slippery Rock.
 
The Lakers are led offensively by junior opposite Shelby Chesko, who has posted 216 kills on the season with a 2.60 kill per set average, she also has 50 blocks, and a pair of aces. Katie Baird is the second highest offensive producer on the team with 187 kills for a 2.28 kills per set average, she has contributed 23 aces. Alyssa Zirnheld rounds out the top three with 180 kills for a 2.17 kills per set average, Zirhheld has added 14 aces and 24 blocks on the season. Makayla Mollé leads assists with 472 for a 5.69 assist per set average.
 
Defensively Hannah Vuylsteke has led Mercyhurst in digs with 335, she has also contributed 23 aces. Alyssa Kling has led blocks with 66 on the season with nine of them being solo, she has also added 19 aces and 136 kills.
 
EAST STROUDSBURG, FRIDAY – 7PM:
 
East Stroudsburg (13-9, 4-7 PSAC) comes into this contest on a two game win streak with victories over Cheyney (3-0) and West Chester (3-1).
East Stroudsburg is led by Sarah Smith who has contributed 201 kills for a 3.04 kills per set average, she has also added 13 aces, and 36 total blocks. Desiree Claxton had added 178 kills for a 2.66 kills per set average she has added 28 blocks, and 12 aces. Sam Dunphy has notched 152 kills for a 2.224 kills per set average, she has posted 47 blocks on the season. Erica Cunningham leads assists with 614 for a 9.45 assist per set average. Rosa Veliky has 378 digs on the season, while Jasmine Williams leads blocks with 75.   

Mercyhurst defeated East Stroudsburg 3-2 in the 2016 season.
 
KUTZTOWN, SATURDAY – 2PM:
 
Kutztown (7-16, 2-9 PSAC) is coming into the contest on a one game win streak after defeating Cheyney by a score of 3-0.
 
Brittney Moyer leads kills with 3.02 kill per set average and 245 total kills on the season, she has also contributed 28 aces, and 22 blocks. Alli Henderson has contributed 171 kills for a 2.14 kills per set average, she is tied for first in aces with 29, and has 15 blocks. Jessica Howe adds 148 kills with a 1.87 kills per set average, she has added 41 blocks on the season. Madisyn Kleinfelter has led assists with 350, a 4.86 assist per set average. Sydney Wilson added 433 digs on the season while Niki Carpenter has contributed 75 blocks on the season.
 
The Lakers dropped a 1-3 match to Kutztown during the 2016 season.
