ERIE, Pa. --
Emilie Bock scored two goals on penalty kicks in the second half to help the Mercyhurst women's soccer team tie Slippery Rock 2-2 after two overtimes Wednesday afternoon at Mercyhurst Soccer Field.
The Lakers' (4-7-4) four draws on the season mark the most ties in a season since 2008.
Mercyhurst fell behind in the 13th minute and did not get a chance to respond until a Slippery Rock (9-4-2) defender received a foul in the penalty area to set up Bock's first PK in the 59th minute. The Rock retook the lead on a Laker turnover in the 63rd minute, but Bock got another PK try in the 83rd minute after a Slippery Rock defender was guilty of a handball.
Bock's two scores were her fourth and fifth of the season. She now leads the Lakers in goals and points (12).
Vilde Wold set a season-high with 14 saves. She faced 16 shots on net, while the Lakers produced six shots on target.
Mercyhurst is on the road for their next game when the Lakers play at Shippensburg Saturday, Oct. 21. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
