ERIE, Pa. — The Mercyhurst field hockey team fell 4-0 to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Kutztown, on Saturday. The Lakers fall to a 6-7 overall record while slipping to a 2-4 conference record.
Leah Rogers led the Lakers with a pair of shots, one of which was on goal.
Katie Ballew and
Paige Albright each contributed a shot but were unable to convert them to scores.
Victoria Triaga was the losing goal keeper for Mercyhurst she posted six saves, and allowed four goals, her record moves to 6-7.
Kyra Wozniak scored two goals for Kutztown she opened scoring during the sixth minute of play, and scored the game's final goal at the 59 minute mark. Madison Wampler and Mackenzie Fuhrman also found net for the Golden Bears.
Kutztown was able to control the pace of the game outshooting Mercyhurst 16 to 4. Kutztown was also earned eight corners to the one received by the Lakers.
Mercyhurst will return to action next on Tuesday when travel to Slippery Rock to compete PSAC action at 4 pm.
