Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. -- The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team skated to a 3-3 tie with Holy Cross during Atlantic Hockey play on Friday.

Taylor Best had two goals and one assist while junior
Nathan Ferriero had one goal and one assist. Freshman Joey Duszak tallied two assists and junior
Zach Todd picked up one assist for Mercyhurst (9-13-2, 8-9-2).

Brett Mulcahy, Scott Pooley and Kevin Darrar scored the goals for Holy Cross (9-9-5, 6-6-5).

Best got the Lakers on the board first at 2:08 in the first period with his first goal of the game. Duszak and Ferriero picked up assists.

Holy Cross came back with a goal from Mulcahy on the power play.

Ferriero scored to make it 2-1 and put the Lakers back in the lead before the first period ended. Todd and Best tallied assists.

During the second period, Darrar scored at 16:07 to tie the game back up at 2-2.

Best got tripped in front of the net and was awarded a penalty shot, but did not capitalize on it and kept the game at 2-2.

With 52 seconds left in the second period, Pooley put the Crusaders in the lead for the first time during the game, 3-2.

Best tied the game at 3-3 when he picked up his second goal of the night on the power play during the third period. Duszak had an assist.

Neither team could find the back of the net during overtime and the game ended at 3-3.

The Lakers went 1-for-4 on the power play while the Crusaders were 0-for-6.

Mercyhurst junior goaltender
Brandon Wildung saved 41 out of 44 shots on net for the Lakers and Holy Cross goaltender Paul Berrafato stopped 26 out of 29 shots for the Crusaders.

Both teams are back in action Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
