Men's Ice Hockey to Match Up with Holy Cross This Weekend

Setting the Scene
  • The Mercyhurst men's ice hockey team will head to Worcester, Mass., to take on Holy Cross on Friday and Saturday.
Weekend Recap
  • The Lakers split their weekend series with Army in West Point, N.Y., last weekend.
  • During Friday's game, Mercyhurst won 3-1 with two goals from junior Jonathan Charbonneau and one goal from junior Tyler Enns. Junior goaltender Brandon Wildung saved 45 shots in net.
  • On Saturday, the Lakers dropped a 4-1 decision. Junior Zach Todd scored the Lakers' lone goal.

  • Mercyhurst has a 36-16-5 advantage over Holy Cross.
Last Meeting
  • The Lakers welcomed the Crusaders back in November and split the weekend series. Holy Cross took the first game, 3-2, before the Lakers won, 4-2, the next night.

  • With a current overall record of 9-9-4 and a conference record of 6-6-4, Holy Cross is sitting one point below Mercyhurst in the Atlantic Hockey standings.
  • The Crusaders are coming off of an overtime loss and tie to Sacred Heart.

  • The Lakers will prepare for a home-and-home series with Atlantic Hockey opponent Niagara on Jan. 27-28. Mercyhurst will host Niagara on Friday before heading to Niagara Falls, N.Y. on Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. both nights.
