PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The fifth-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team rolled to a 17-5 win over Alderson-Broaddus in Eastern College Athletic Conference action on Tuesday.
Kurtis Woodland led the Lakers (9-2, 4-1) with six goals.
James Crowe added three goals and three assists while
Keyan McQueen contributed three goals and one assist.
Also for Mercyhurst,
Derek Richards,
John Plaskey,
Myles Young,
Michael Convery and
Dom Perna scored one goal apiece. Richards also had three assists,
Connor Enright made two assists and Plaskey,
Colin Greenway,
Michael Poe and
Kevin Vaughn dished one assist each.
Poe,
Shane Endres and
Ryan Vitale had five groundballs apiece. Vitale was 14 of 23 in the faceoff circle. Endres also finished with three caused turnovers.
Matt Wells was the winning goalie, making five saves through the first three quarters.
William Koester (3) and
Delvin Ergott (2) played the fourth quarter and combined for five saves.
Leading 3-2, the Lakers went on a nine-goal run, which left them with a 12-2 lead in the third. Mercyhurst never trailed.
Nicolas Williams and Keir Yonge had two goals apiece for the host Rattlers (4-7, 1-4). Goalie Dom Moriarty stopped 14 shots.
The Lakers held a 39-23 shot advantage and edged A-B in the faceoff circle, 14-11.
Mercyhurst will be in action again on Sunday when it hosts Ohio Valley for a 1 p.m. ECAC contest.
