ERIE, Pa. -- The ninth-ranked Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team suffered a 10-6 loss to Mount Olive in non-conference action at Tullio Field on Saturday.
James Crowe scored three goals while
Connor Enright totaled one goal and two assists for the Lakers (3-1), who fell behind 4-1 in the first half and trailed the rest of the way.
Colin Greenway also had a goal for Mercyhurst while
Keyan McQueen,
Greg Weyl and
Kurtis Woodland contributed assists. Weyl also had four groundballs and three caused turnovers.
After taking a 4-2 lead into halftime, the visiting Trojans (6-2) scored six straight goals in the second half to build their largest lead. Mercyhurst scored the game's final four goals, getting all three of Crowe's scores during that stretch.
Matt Wells had six saves in net for Mercyhurst while Ross Bowman stoppped 13 shots to earn the victory for Mount Olive.
The Lakers outshot Mount Olive, 32-30, although the Trojans held a 13-4 advantage in faceoff wins.
Mercyhurst will return to action on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. Eastern College Athletic Conference matchup at Walsh.
